Business-to-Business Efforts Result in 2,745 Room Nights for Casper

Wednesday, March 13, 2019—Casper, Wyoming—Visit Casper is pleased to announce that three groups—including Women on Wheels, International Ski for Light and the Oregon-California Trails Association—have chosen Casper as the location for their upcoming meetings and conventions.

“We know that Casper is a destination that is home to incredible experiences,” said Ryan Hauck, Director of Sales and Corporate Partnerships. “We have the lodging and meeting amenities, the outdoor activities and the Western hospitality that groups of all sizes are looking for. Those offerings, combined with our culinary and cultural scene, really help our destination stand out.”

All three events will be held at various times from 2019 through 2021 and each event will bring in hundreds of people to the city, including:

  • Women on Wheels Ride-In: July 2019; 300-350 female motorcycle riders expected in Casper for seven days; will contribute 570 room nights to Casper. Additional highlights include the Central Wyoming Fair & Rodeo, riding on Casper Mountain and an event at David Street Station.
  • International Ski for Light: Winter 2020; 250-300 attendees from the U.S., Norway and Canada in Casper for 10 days; and 1,200 room nights. Venues include Hogadon Basin Ski Area, David Street Station and the Casper Biathlon Center.
  • Oregon-California Trails Association: Fall 2021; 350 attendees for six nights in Casper; and 975 room nights. Additional highlights include the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center, Oregon Trail, Martin’s Cove, Independence Rock, Fort Caspar and more.

“Proactive marketing and sales efforts are a key part of what Visit Casper does to bring overnight stays to Natrona County,” said Brook Kaufman, CEO of Visit Casper. “When we see our efforts resulting in significant room nights to Casper—especially in our shoulder seasons—it’s a big win for our entire community, the tourism industry and the State of Wyoming.”
