Group Activities

In Casper, the memorable experiences go beyond the meeting itself. While you’re in the heart of Wyoming, why not soak up everything it has to offer? We’ve rounded up some of the best things to do with your group with a little extra time in Casper.

4 Group Activities in Casper

Fish the North Platte River
Casper is a bucket list fishing destination with blue-ribbon waters right through town. If you have some anglers in your group, you’d be remiss to skip a day on the water. The river runs right through town and even in the city, the fishing is remarkable. But if you want to get out of town, we recommend booking a trip with one of our experienced local guides

Experience the Oregon Trail
Located at the base of a mountain and alongside the North Platte River, Casper has always been a natural travel corridor. When early Americans traveled west in search of a better life on the overland trails, they came right through present-day Casper. And while you’re here, you can get a sense of what they experienced by taking a covered Conestoga wagon ride in the actual ruts of the Oregon Trail with Historic Trails West.

Catch a Rodeo
When in Wyoming, do as the locals do: go to the rodeo. Casper hosts two world-class PRCA rodeos annually: College National Finals Rodeo and Central Wyoming Fair & Rodeo. Boots and cowboy hat not required. (But if you want to dress the part, you can stop by Lou Taubert Ranch Outfitters and gear up for the occasion.)

Events & Festivals
There’s truly always something happening in Casper. In the warmer months, there is a festival or large event almost weekly. And in the winter, there are several indoor events or snowy celebrations. Whether it’s the Casper Balloon Roundup, Beartrap Summer Festival or the Canines for Charity Sled Dog Race, it’s worth checking the events calendar while you’re here.
