Play in Wyoming this Summer

Summer

One of Wyoming’s most amazing times of year to visit is summer, and Casper is no exception. The outdoors tend to take center stage during the summer season, especially with longer daylight hours. Summer brings easy access to fishing, floating and boating on the North Platte River, Pathfinder Reservoir and Alcova Reservoir, as well as hiking, mountain biking and camping on Casper Mountain.

History tends to come alive during summer as well, from interpretive tours at the National Historic Trails Center and Register Cliffs to setting out on horseback or via wagon on the Oregon Trail with Historic Trails West.

Summer is also festival season in Casper, with our biggest events taking place during this time of year, including farmers markets, the Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo, College National Finals Rodeo, Beartrap Music Festival, NicFest and Riverfest. The hub of the action is David Street Station, an outdoor venue that plays host to special events throughout the year, live concerts during the summer and a downtown splash pad that’s perfect for cooling down after a day exploring the city, hiking or walking through history.
