Up, Up And Away
Chamber of Commerce Balloon Roundup Festival
What started as a small hot air balloon event with a handful of balloons in 2005 has become a weekend-long festival that attracts balloonists from all around the United States. The festivities include mass launches Friday, July 28th, Saturday, July 29th and Sunday, July 30th mornings at 6 a.m. Surely a sight worth getting up early for!
Pro tip: after the launch at Casper College, head up Casper Mountain to lookout point or the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center to get a great view of the balloons over the city.
If 6 a.m. sounds too early for you, don’t worry. The Casper Balloon Roundup isn’t just for early birds. Saturday evening, David Street Station becomes the roundup headquarters during Downtown Balloon Fest. Several balloons and their pilots will be downtown to allow attendees a chance to see the aircrafts up close.
