KICK OFF SUMMER
Memorial Day Weekend
Memorial Day Weekend marks the beginning of summer across the United States and it is a big weekend to be in Casper. Locals and visitors gather to celebrate the warm days ahead in the sunshine. Many use the weekend as the official kick off to “lake season” with a trip to Alcova or Pathfinder reservoirs.
While you’re celebrating the weekend, take some time to honor our veterans with a visit to the Wyoming Veterans Memorial Museum, just a few miles west of town. The museum is housed on the former site of the WWII Casper Army Air Corps Base where B-17 & B-24 bomber crews trained. The collections tell the stories of Veterans who fought in wars and conflicts from the Indian Wars of the 1850s to present day.
