Fremont Canyon
Meet Wyoming’s Hidden Gem, Fremont Canyon
One of Wyoming’s best-kept secrets, Fremont Canyon is a must see. Sitting about 4 miles southwest of Pathfinder Dam, Fremont Canyon has beautiful rock walls that rise high on either side of the river, making it a prime location for casting a fishing line from the shore. Plus, as you fish the North Platte River at Fremont Canyon (referred to as the meadow), you’ll be rewarded with stunning geological views of the Goose Egg Formation and its surrounding sandstone and limestone topography.
In addition to the fishing, Fremont Canyon is one of the most beautiful places to kayak, canoe or boat with water access from Alcova Reservoir. Additional attractions include high-quality rock climbing, sightseeing, hiking and mountain biking.
