Wyoming History
National Historic Trails Interpretive Center (1-2 hours)
- Tour of National Historic Trails Center. This world-class facility commemorates Native American history, early explorers, and the travel corridor of the Oregon, Mormon, California, and Pony Express trails, as well as the Bridger and Bozeman trails through hands-on, interactive exhibits in seven galleries and an 18 minute multi-media program.
Travel to Historic Trails West (20 minutes)
Covered Wagon Ride on the Oregon Trail & Camp Cook Out (3.5 hours)
- Experience a once-in-a-lifetime ride in an authentic covered wagon on the Oregon Trail with Historic Trails West. Experience what it was like traveling westward in the 1800s and get a firsthand look at the trail, the terrain and the history.
- Your ride will take you to the banks of the North Platte River where you'll arrive at a Teepee Village for a dutch-oven cookout lunch.

As a testament to their journey, travelers of the trail carved their names into this behemoth rock that stands 136 feet tall and covers an area of 24.81 acres. Take an afternoon to visit this national historic landmark where you might just find the names of some of your ancestors.
