Yellowstone Updates
NEWS AND INFORMATION FOR YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK
RESOURCES, IDEAS AND ITINERARIES FOR YOUR WYOMING VACATION
While our neighbors to the north – Yellowstone National Park – experienced record flooding in mid-June, the park announced that the northern loop will reopen and the alternating license plate system will be suspended on July 2. With the reopening of the northern loop, 93% of the roads within the park are open. All access will continue through the East Entrance (Cody, Wyoming), South Entrance (Grand Teton/Jackson, Wyoming) and West Entrance (West Yellowstone, Montana).
If your travel plans are affected, you may have more time to explore Wyoming and we invite you to explore the one and only Casper.
With plentiful lodging accommodations, room to breathe and ample opportunities to explore the West, Casper is the perfect place to spend some time. Experience the West by attending the Central Wyoming Fair & Rodeo, touring the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center or taking a wagon ride with Historic Trails West. Soak up the outdoors on a guided fly-fishing trip on the North Platte River or by hitting the trails on Casper Mountain. Stroll through downtown’s shops and stores and taste the flavors of Wyoming at local restaurants, breweries and a distillery.
