Visit Casper Opens Applications for Destination Development Funding

The Destination Development Funding program is made available through funds from the Wyoming Office of Tourism to local lodging tax boards, including Visit Casper. Each lodging tax board is the “responsible entity” for funding, and the use of funds must follow guidelines from the state tourism office, as well as support the goals outlined in the 2026 Casper Tourism Master Plan.

“This program is about investing in experiences that encourage travelers to visit Casper and Natrona County,” said Annette Pitts, CEO of Visit Casper. “The funds are a great opportunity for our community as a whole to think about projects that enhance visitor experiences, while also improving the quality of life for residents and locals.”

Project funding is available in two waves, the first for fiscal year 2027 (July 1, 2026-June 30, 2027) and the second for fiscal year 2028 (July 1, 2027-June 30, 2028).

Applicants can apply on the Visit Casper website and should be prepared to share the following information about their projects: what part of the Casper Tourism Master Plan does your project support, how will your project support part of the master plan, will your project improve the quality of life for the local community, how will your project impact or improve the visitor experience, what is the timeline for the project, other funding requests and any additional information or details.

Projects will be evaluated based on the potential tourism impact, community benefit and how each project aligns and supports the Casper Tourism Master Plan. Pillars in the master plan include:

- Tourism and economic development partnerships
- Improving community attractions and amenities – from sporting events to downtown and growing new amenities while supporting mainstays like the Ford Wyoming Center
- Improving transportation and connectivity
- Positively growing, supporting and protecting Casper Mountain
- Develop, support and maintain positive efforts and projects along the North Platte River

For the first wave of funding, applications must be submitted by August 21, 2026. For the second round of funding, applications must be submitted by August 20, 2027. Applications are reviewed and awards determined the Natrona County Travel & Tourism Council Board of Directors.
