"OUTRIDING THE DEVIL" Wyoming Movie Premiere and CNFR Kickoff
Overview
OUTRIDING THE DEVIL
Wyoming Premiere and CNFR Kickoff Presented by Visit Casper and Hosted by the Wyoming Foundation for Cancer Care
"An unbelievable true story brought to life on screen” - Sports IllustratedThe #1 ranked Western documentary movie on IMDb comes to Casper for its WYOMING PREMIERE and the CNFR kickoff. Following its worldwide premiere at the 2025 National Finals Rodeo (NFR), ProRodeo.com declared OUTRIDING THE DEVIL to be, "one of the great rodeo movies," and during Rodeo Houston the Houston Chronicle called it, “masterful.” Some of the biggest names in rodeo, including Stetson Wright, Rusty Wright, Bob Tallman, Shad “Money” Mayfield, Ky Hamilton, Zeke Thurston, and Fallon Taylor join with Mo Brings Plenty and stars of the YELLOWSTONE TV universe and country music to share the greatest comeback in rodeo history: in 2010, Texas Rodeo Hall of Famer, Angela Ganter, a world champion barrel racer, was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer. In a decade-long fight for life, she literally went from “death’s door to the winner’s circle” at Cheyenne Frontier Days to complete her remarkable return to rodeo. Some 60% of the movie was shot in Wyoming, and features major contributions from the Cowboy State’s own Ned LeDoux, Chancey Williams, and Dusty Tuckness. However, OUTRIDING THE DEVIL is about more than Angela Ganter’s indomitable will and courage to overcome cancer and return to rodeo; on a sweeping canvas that stretches from frontier Texas in 1850 to the Canadian Finals Rodeo (CFR) in 2024, Ganter’s life and pioneering ranching heritage serve as both living history and a metaphor for Western culture and rodeo. Both Lily Wright (younger sister of rodeo icons Stetson, Ryder, Statler and Rusty Wright) and 2024 All-Around Champion, Shad "Money" Mayfield, make their acting debuts in the film's dramatizations. With unique insights from today's superstars of rodeo and rare archive footage of legends from yesteryear. Narrated by Forrie J. Smith (YELLOWSTONE). Soundtrack by 2X Grammy nominee Radney Foster.
With an introduction and Q&A by director, Raen LeVell.
