NHTIC May 2026 Pioneer Trail Trek--County Roads 308-319
Overview
On May 30, join our trail trek guide on the Oregon Trail Road, to County Roads 308-319. Trekkers will get the opportunity to explore unique pioneer locations along the Oregon, Mormon, California, and Pony Express National Historic Trails while listening to pioneer stories through journals and diary readings.
The National Historic Trails Interpretive Center (NHTIC) is once again hosting off-site pioneer trail treks for summer 2026. Led by NHTIC staff and OCTA (Oregon-California Trail Association) members, participants will drive their own vehicles or carpool.
Participants will meet in the NHTIC parking lot at 8 a.m. Sites have uneven surfaces and elevation changes, which may not be suitable for those in poor physical condition. Bring lunch, water, snacks, and wear appropriate clothing and footwear for walking and weather changes. A high-clearance or 4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended.
