Overview
July 4 - Go West Young Nation! A Freedom 250 Celebration
Featuring NHTIC employee, Reid Miller
Thank you to the organizations below that have made this event possible:
Fort Caspar
The U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management
The Rocky Mountain Conservancy
The mean center of America’s population continues to trend Westward today, ever since our first census records began documenting that data in 1790. As we celebrate 250 years of our national story, it is the perfect time to honor the pioneers that helped define twelve new states of the republic between 1840 and 1890, all west of the Mississippi River.
Join us at the Fort Caspar Museum on Saturday, July 4, 11:00 a.m., when Reid Miller, from the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center will discuss how the emigrants were organized, and what support they received from the General Land Office.
