NHTIC August 22 2026: Sheepherders Rendezvous and Sites near Glenrock in cooperation with the Natrona County Historical Society

Overview

On August 22, join both the Natrona County Historical Society and the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center (NHTIC), on this joint adventure as we experience the Sheepherders Rendezvous and explore other pioneer sites in and around the Glenrock area.

The National Historic Trails Interpretive Center (NHTIC) is once again hosting off-site pioneer trail treks for summer 2026. Led by NHTIC staff and OCTA (Oregon-California Trail Association) members, participants will drive their own vehicles or carpool.

Participants will meet in the NHTIC parking lot at 8 a.m. Sites have uneven surfaces and elevation changes, which may not be suitable for those in poor physical condition. Bring lunch, water, snacks, and wear appropriate clothing and footwear for walking and weather changes. A high-clearance or 4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended.
