Devil's Gate
State Route 220
Alcova, WY 82620
Overview
Inspiring the curiosity of travelers since the days of the historic trails, Devil's Gate is a narrow cleft in the granite carved by the Sweetwater River. Once a major trail landmark this is now a short stop along Wyoming Highway 220 with a vault toilet, large parking area, and interpretive trail with overlook. You can also access a hiking trail that will take you closer to the gate itself by hiking the trails at Martin's Cove and The Sun Ranch just a short drive down the road.
