Fremont Canyon, Independence Rock—these iconic places are like our local celebrities, right? But listen up, folks, 'cause us true-blue locals have a soft spot for the nooks and crannies that don't always make the headlines but hit us right in the feels and remind us why we call this place home sweet home.
So, with summer so close we can almost taste it, we figured it's high time to dig deep and share some of our favorite underrated local views with you!

1. Eadsville Overlook
Yeah, Split Rock is cool and all, but lemme tell ya, if you wanna feel like you're on top of the dang world, you gotta hoof it up to that scenic overlook on Eadsville Trail up on Casper Mountain. It's like a front-row seat to nature's own movie. The way the sun shines off the horizon and the wind whispers through the pines—it's enough to make a grown person tear up with gratitude for calling this wild and wonderful place our stomping grounds. So, if you think you've seen it all, think again, 'cause Eadsville Trail's gonna knock your socks off.
2. Alcova Reservoir from the Back of a Boat
Picture this: sun beating down, wind in your hair, and the glorious sight of Alcova Reservoir stretching out in front of you like a liquid oasis in the middle of summer. Ain't no place we'd rather be than kickin' back on the back of a boat, soaking in the rays and the good vibes that come with being right here in our own backyard.

What is it about the wide-open spaces of Wyoming that slow us down and humble us? Our favorite time of year to soak in the high desert plains is springtime when the landscapes begin to bloom. What about you?

If you know, you know. Lay down a blanket, crack a cold one and tap your toes to the music as the day passes by at Beartrap Music Festival every August at Beartrap Meadow on Casper Mountain.

'Cause here in our neck of the woods, happy hour ain't just about the drinks—it's about the stories, the laughs, and the genuine connections that make this place more than just a spot on the map. 6. The Oil City from the Viewing Deck at the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center
We triple dog dare you to head up to the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center and check this view off your list this summer. The Trails Center just got a good ol' scrub down and a fresh new look, so it's back in business and ready for y'all to come on over and soak in a view that'll make your heart sing. We ain't kiddin', this place is a must-see this summer!
7. Red Rock Formations off the Highway Headed West
Name a Western view that is more iconic than this... we'll wait. May we add that we highly recommend passing by the red rock formations at sunset. Roll your window down, let your fingers glide through the summer air and watch the colors bounce off the landscapes. Oh yeah... pack a camera, please!
8. David Street Station from the Overview Deck
A view like this will easily bring us to tears. If you want to watch the love and energy of our beautiful community come to life, head to the Overview Deck at David Street Station - where Casper comes together.
9. Casper from the North Platte River
Drift, float or paddle... there is something so sweet about taking in an afternoon from the North Platte River.
