Local Economic Impact
In 2024, Natrona County welcomed 835,000 overnight visitors who spent $377.8 million, up 1% from 2023.
That $377.8 million in direct visitor spending powered 2,890 full and part-time jobs, (right here at home!), and $115.6 million in earnings. Tourist spending also contributed $19.6 million in state and local taxes. Each household in Natrona County would have to write a check for more than $540 to make up the $19.6 million in taxes collected from tourists while they’re here.

Along with funding the work that Visit Casper does to support Natrona County businesses and improve the quality of life of our residence, tourism dollars also go towards funding essential services such as police, fire, and EMS, and local amenities like the Ford Wyoming Center, Hogadon Basin Ski Area, and city parks. Without tourism, our community would look a lot different, and there's no one better equipped to tell that story than our very own residents.
