This September 10, 2022, The Bloomery is proud to host an experiential fundraiser for the Wyoming Mustang Institute, based in Casper, Wyoming. Founded by Chad and Lynn Hanson, the Institute works to ensure healthy and stable wild horse populations on public land through research, media outreach, and informational events.

Chad and Lynn have spent the past decade on the high plains prairie, documenting through video and glorious photos the wild bands of horses that have called Wyoming home for hundreds of years. Their detailed documentation of family bands, genetic diversity, and herd numbers matter more now than ever before as the American Mustang is on the decline. History is in the making as we watch.

Enter Gabriel the Bull.

"Not into epic westerns? Not into Spanish guitar? Then this, my friend, is not for you."

So begins the Instagram account for Gabriel the Bull, a rare sort of epic musician and storyteller from Buffalo, Wyoming whose performance is unlike anything we have heard before. Consider the blend of a soulful, hard-rock voice accompanied by the floating, rhythmic notes from a Spanish guitar and you will begin to get the idea. Add to that the fact that he has a huge heart for horses and you will know why we asked him to headline our event for the Wyoming Mustang Institute. Gabriel the Bull is a brilliant musician. He loves horses. What else is there?

Together, we will share in all that is wild. Whiskey. Horses. And a campfire.

This is Wyoming.
