CONOR JACOBSON November 22, 2020 • 4:00 p.m. Our Saviour's Lutheran Church
2020 is the tricentennial of "Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin" composed by J. S. Bach. Conor will perform the full set of these works, known as the "bible" for violin, in two recitals, this one and one in the fall.
Born and raised in Wyoming, Conor Jacobson grew up on a farm near Pavillion. He began studying violin when he was four years old. Soon after and continuing through high school, with the support and encouragement of his family, he would make a weekly trip with his grandfather to Casper for violin lessons.
He continued musical studies at Casper College and the University of Arizona before deciding to pursue his interests at the world renowned early music department of the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, The Netherlands. There he spent the next four years studying the specialized and diverse historical, technical and philosophical approaches to the music ranging from the late Renaissance to the Classical periods with emphasis on the Baroque period. During this time he performed extensively in the Netherlands as well as numerous concerts throughout northern Europe and Chile.
Conor then returned to Wyoming and started a family. He now lives in Cody.
