UW Extension of Natrona County will be hosting 4 speakers for this year’s Central Wyoming Tree Care Workshop. Speakers include Dr. Daniel Burcham, the new Professor of Arboriculture, at Colorado State University, Bill Scott, Jr., local Master Arborist, Mike Tilford and Jim Tough both of SavATree based in Fort Collins, CO.

Bill Scott, Jr. will be up first and talk about the right tree, may not be the right tree if the space is wrong for it. Dr. Burcham will share his research background on wind effects on trees in his program on Pruning trees to enhance their resilience in high wind conditions.

Lunch by HQ Bar BQ will be served at 11:45. Our afternoon will start with program on the safety issues that are faced by our Arboriculturists as they work in the tree canopy to improve the health of local trees.

The final presentation, by Jim tough, will be focused on the basics of pruning, we all need reminders of the basics and we can all learn something new by hearing some of the same things again. By attending the full day ISA Certified Arborists will accumulate 5.5 CEU credits.

Registrations are $25 and are open by contacting Rose Jones at the UW Extension Office of Natrona County at (307) 235-9400. Payments can be made in cash or with a check.

Our Speakers are being sponsored by Wyoming State Forestry Division, Natrona County Conservation District, the City of Casper Parks Division, and ISA Rocky Mountain Chapter.

Masks will be recommended for those attending in person and tables and seating will be arranged for social distancing.
