Alexis DePaolo is an aspiring cellist currently studying with Brandon Vamos, member of the Grammy Award-winning Pacifica Quartet and pursing her Bachelor’s in Music Performance. She is now in her junior year of undergraduate studies at the renowned Indiana University Jacobs School of Music as a recipient of generous music and honors college scholarships.
Alexis has served as principal and assistant principal cellist in several orchestras at IU, and has held other leadership positions in various school orchestras and ensembles. She is very passionate about performing orchestral repertoire, and was fortunate to be a member of Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestra in the summer of 2019, which gave her the opportunity to tour and play in the great concert halls of Berlin, Hamburg, London, Edinburgh, and Amsterdam, among others.
Before her time at Indiana University, Alexis attended Kelly Walsh High School, and was principal cellist of Wyoming All State Orchestra for both her freshman and sophomore years. She studied with the cello professor at University of Wyoming, Beth Vanderborgh, until she moved to finish her high school education at Interlochen Arts Academy, a school for pre-professional young artists.
She is very grateful for the support of her entire family, especially her parents Jennifer and Gary DePaolo, who are members of the WSO and amazing music educators in the Casper community.
