Surrounded by rich history and a mystical, natural landscape, you’ll never run out of things to do on Halloween in Casper, Wyoming. Check out these top fun things to do in Casper, and don’t worry — they are all treats. No tricks here!
Ghost Tours and Haunted Stops
There’s no better way to get into the spooky spirit of Halloween than a Fort Caspar ghost tour. Led by the Caspar Area Paranormal Society, you can spend the evening on the hallowed ground of Fort Caspar, which consists of a reconstructed military post, abandoned quarters, and a cemetery. Capture shocking evidence of the paranormal on their specialized ghost-hunting equipment, but be careful not to let any ghouls follow you home!
Or you can search for the man smoking behind the bar at the Rialto Soda Fountain. A cigar shop in the 1920s that in recent years turned into a family-friendly soda and candy shop, the corner building by one of the town’s oldest movie theaters is known to be haunted by all the locals. Brave a visit, crack open a cold old-fashioned soda and risk a chance encounter with the unexplainable — objects moving without reason or corners of the building having unexplained cold drafts. You may even see what might be the lingering soul of the previous owner!
If witchy is more your vibe than hauntings, travel up Casper Mountain to visit the Crimson Dawn Park and Museum, both themed after the famed 1920s writer and artist who lived there, Neal Forsing. In the museum, which is located in the rustic cabin where Forsing and her small family resided, you’ll find her works and discussions about the inspiration of the area. Dive deeper into the woods with the park’s series of trails where you can tour shrines dedicated to the author’s work, Crimson Dawn.
