Fall in Wyoming brings cooler days, crisp nights and a variety of autumn colors to our mountains, river trails and more. It’s also the time of year when we start to cozy up and there’s no better way to do that than by visiting our local culinary hotspots, from restaurants to candy shops and more.
Here are seven cozy foods to help you soak up the many flavors of fall.
1. Eggs Benedict Options from Eggington’s
Eggington’s is a well-known staple in downtown Casper and is perfect for breakfast, brunch and lunch. As this place is hopping, there may be a slight wait for breakfast, especially on the weekends, but believe us when we tell you it’s well worth the wait. When you visit, be sure to try one of their four different options of eggs benedict, as they are all the perfect breakfast choices for fall.
2. Burger at the Branding Iron
If you love a delicious grilled burger, your favorite meal is likely waiting at the Branding Iron in downtown Casper. Here you’ll find 15 different burger choices, all with their own creative take. A few that are perfect for fall are Casper, Omaha, Denver and Philadelphia. If you’re not into beef, you can also substitute it for veggies, chicken or bison.
3. Pizza at Racca’s Pizzeria Napolitana
We are strong believers that pizza is good any day and night. If you’re in the mood for the tastiest pizza around, make dinner plans at Racca’s Pizzeria Napolitana. Some of our favorite options are the Toscana and Sicilia.
4. Caramel Apple at Donnell’s Candy
There’s something about fall that practically calls for candied apples, especially when fudge and caramel are involved. And while we like to think caramels and apples are the perfect combination, if you’re not an apple person Donnell’s Candy has plenty of other goodies to choose from. You can stop in, call or order your favorite kinds of candies here.
5. Soup + Sandwich at Cottage Café
When visiting Casper, eating lunch at the Cottage Café is a must! (Trust us on this.) They have the tastiest sandwiches served on homemade bread, salads and soups that keep you cozy during autumn. One thing to keep in mind: the Cottage Café is open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., so plan your lunch accordingly.
6. Loaded Baked Potato at Wyoming Rib & Chop House
There’s something about a hot baked potato that hits the spot on crisp fall days. Casper’s Rib and Chop House has a hot roast beef potato that’s stuffed with butter, sour cream, pit-smoked beef and brown gravy. If this doesn’t sound filling and absolutely amazing, we’re not sure what does.
7. French Onion Soup at FireRock Steakhouse
Located on the east end of town, FireRock Steakhouse is one of the best spots to kick back and enjoy a night with mouth-watering dining. If you’re a soup lover, FireRock has two fabulous regular soup choices: baked potato and French onion soup au gratin. They also have a slew of other specialty soups and dishes, and you can’t go wrong with any of their menu offerings.
While you’re visiting Casper this fall, be sure to taste all our mountain town has to offer by digging into local grub at our 193 restaurants.
